Additional Info

Materials Provided:

  • Prepared screens, ink, poster paper, all tools and equipment.

Materials Required:

  • Students should submit their original black-only drawing or digital design at least two days in advance (by Friday, 6/9/17). The image needs to be black/white ONLY to create the screen (not grayscale or with transparent colors). You may email a scanned drawing, or drop it off for us to scan (8.5x11 or smaller); or email a digital file, such as a Word document, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, PDF or a high-resolution jpeg. If for any reason the image will not work, we will let you know what changes need to be made so you can resubmit it.
  • Students need to bring with them four (4) cotton or cotton-blend fabric items to print, such as t-shirts, tote bags, pillowcases, etc. (Optional: students may purchase t-shirts or tote bags from us with advance notice for $4 each.) If you are not sure if an item will work, simply email us ahead of time, or send an additional item to substitute just in case.

Additional Info:

We will demonstrate screen preparation in class so students can learn about the process, but in the interest of time, students' screens will be prepared with their images in advance.

Students will be using permanent water-based inks, so please wear clothes that can get dirty!

We will be using professional equipment in class, including a flash dryer with a heating element which could cause burns if used improperly. Students must be capable of following directions to avoid harming themselves, other students, or equipment.
