Suminagashi: Paper Marbling
Monday, July 23 from 6-8pm
Suminagashi is a paper marbling technique that originated in Japan in the 12th Century. In this workshop, students will learn the technique of floating sumi ink on the surface of water to create their own unique sheets of marbled paper.
Sumi ink, brushes, and paper will be provided by the instructor. Aprons will be available, however, sumi ink does stain clothes, so please wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty.
This workshop will be taught by GPP Member Shannon Kennedy in Studio 122 at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment.
